This full moon will also be special from the point of view of astronomy, because on this day in the evening, the last supermoon of the year will be visible in the sky. By keeping its distance from Earth to three lakh 61 thousand 184 kilometers, it will appear 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than the moon of the common full moon.

On Thursday, May 07, there will be a moon supermoon visible in the sky on Buddha Purnima. This supermoon will start rising in the eastern sky at 6.52 pm on this day and will set up at 5.36 am on Friday the next day.

As it rises after rising, its brightness will also increase. If there is a facility to watch the supermoon rise from your terrace or courtyard, then its photography can also be done.

It will rise 14 per cent and will appear 30 per cent brighter than the moon of the common full moon. Due to the flowers blooming in the western countries at this time, it has also been named Superflower Moon, Corn Planting Moon, Milkmoon. Telescope is not mandatory to see it. This will be the last supermoon of the year. After this, now the next supermoon will be seen on 27 April 2021.

What is Supermoon?

The Moon orbits the Earth on an elliptical path, in which its maximum distance from Earth is four lakh six thousand 692 kilometers, which is called Apoji and the minimum distance is three lakh 56 thousand 500 kilometers, which is called Periji. When the distance of the moon is less than three lakh 61 thousand 885 km from the earth, it is called a supermoon. During this time it appears larger and more shiny.
